Year 9 - Year 13
Dunstan High School values each and every member of the community and supports one another physically, emotionally and spiritually whilst valuing the importance of achieving personal excellence, being honest and respectful, friendly and generous, and have a sense of pride and belonging within the school. These are the cornerstones of their ethos, and help to grow the students to be the well-rounded citizens they are when they move on to the next stage in their lives.
An education at Dunstan focuses on ensuring academic success for every student based on their potential, their aspirations and the high expectations for all at Dunstan High School. While it is academic qualifications that open doors to future success, it is strength of character, a sense of values and a love of learning that ensure the students are indeed, the best they can be.
At approximately 600 students, this size allows them to provide the range of available opportunities that compares and indeed, surpasses significantly larger schools and yet allows them to meet the needs of every single student, so that no one ‘falls between the cracks’.
The rich and diverse range of opportunities in the Arts, in Sport, Outdoor Education and beyond, ensures the well-rounded individual they strive to develop, is a reality. They are fortunate that the location in the thriving town of Alexandra, within the beautiful Central Otago region, allows them to make the most of the historical and geographic riches that this region is famous for.
