Outside the clinic times patients should phone their own GP where the call will be picked up by a call centre with nurses who triage the urgency of the call.

Visitors should phone the after-hours number, listed in the Useful Numbers section of this App.

Please note that higher charges will be incurred at these weekend clinics.

Need Urgent Care?

Central Otago now has an Urgent Care Centre at Health Central, 105-107 Tarbert Street, Alexandra.

The Urgent Care Centre is for non-life threatening illness and injury.

The Centre is open 7 days a week from 8am – 6pm and provides a walk-in service.

You do not need a referral and you do not need to be enrolled with Health Central.

This service will be available to all residents in Central Otago as well as visitors to the region.

There is a fee for this service.

HealthCentral enrolled patients will pay reduced fees (including on weekends)
