For the past 4 years I have represented the people of Cromwell on the Cromwell Community Board.
I’m proud of what I have achieved as your representative, particularly in fighting with fellow members to ensure that the proceeds of the sale of any endowment land are used for the benefit of the Cromwell community. At the same time I have worked tirelessly to help other community groups to achieve their goals.
This October I am standing for election to Council so that I can make a difference in some of the areas that concern me greatly. Affordable housing, reducing the burden of high rate rises, upgraded roading, more parking in town and holding our Council to account.
However, the subject most dear to my heart is better and affordable healthcare for the district and especially for Cromwell. What we need is a publicly funded and freely available facility in Cromwell that provides services in addition to those available at Dunstan and for those members of our community who cannot afford or do not have access to private healthcare.
I will be fighting hard to ensure that a small part of our endowment land, which was originally gifted for the benefit of the people of Cromwell, is made available by our Council for the provision of such a facility.
I am passionate about the place where I live and I assure you that what is important to you is important to me.
