Leading into Labour Weekend, the lilacs at Vallance Cottage Reserve in Alexandra should be in full bloom.

We are lucky enough to have varieties from all around the world that are very rare, even in their country of origin, lovingly cultivated and curated by our Lilac Lady, Beryl Lee of Dunedin.

Many of these plants have been transplanted into Vallance beds by our dedicated team of parks and property staff who look after the cottage and reserve.

Beryl is looking forward to showing people around the expanded collection and will be onsite Wednesday 23 October 2pm and Thursday 24 October 10am.

The cottage will also open to the public.
