9am – 11am: National Gold Panning Championships.

Hosted by the Otago Goldfields Heritage Trust, this event is something people of all ages can take part in - and is a great lead into Central Otago hosting the World Goldpanning Championships in 2026!

Make sure you come along and give it a go - you could even find yourself a winner!

Register on the day between 9am-11am.

Panning heats start at 10am.
