Join the excitement at the NZ National Cherry Pit-Spit Championship in the Cromwell Heritage Precinct, proudly hosted by the Cromwell & Districts Promotion Group.

This quirky summer favourite brings together all ages for a light-hearted contest to see who can launch a cherry pit the farthest.

Spectators are free, so come along and enjoy the spectacle.

It’s the perfect day out, with the Cromwell Farmers Market and the Cromwell Free Market running right alongside the event — plenty to browse, taste and discover.

Add in the precinct’s boutique shops, cafés and galleries, and you’ve got a full day of local flavour and heritage charm.

There’ll be a Colouring Competition, a “Best Cherry-Fest Dressed” contest, and a cheeky “Guess How Many Cherries?” challenge.

Competitors can enter for just $2 for 3 cherries — ready for your best shot at pit-spitting glory.
