Dunstan Arm Rowing Club Open Day

Every Friday 9:30 PM-11:00 PM

Dunstan Arm Rowing Club, Fruitgrowers Road, Clyde

Give Rowing a Go!

The official rowing season is about to kick off and the Dunstan Arm Rowing Club invites anyone considering rowing this year to “give rowing a go” at their Open Days.

Whether you have previously rowed and want to get back in a boat, or are keen to try something new, rowing is a fantastic way to build strength and fitness, teamwork and have fun out on the water.

The Club offers rowing at all levels and caters for novices through to club and senior athletes.

We also have a group of masters who regularly row on the weekends and enjoy a social coffee after.

The Dunstan Arm Rowing Club is a Development Hub for Rowing NZ and offers a clear pathway for athletes who wish to progress further in the sport. In addition to our junior rowing programme we have a strong club and senior programme.

Following another successful club season, 12 of our athletes were selected for New Zealand representative crews.

All rowers have the opportunity to compete at local and national regattas during the season with the club’s main focus to prepare athletes for the NZ Rowing Champs in February. Our school-age athletes then continue training for the South Island Secondary School Champs and Maadi Cup in March.

Head coach Simon Smith says, “the club’s success has been based on the back of a strong rowing programme and an inclusive and supportive club culture.

“We want to make sure that rowing is accessible and affordable for everyone in this community to enjoy.”

So if you are keen to learn something new, meet new people, improve your strength and fitness then come out and have some fun at the Dunstan Arm Rowing Club Open Day.
