Simon has been entertaining audiences around New Zealand for over 30 years, starring in musical theatre productions and featuring as a vocalist for major events like Starlight Symphony, Christmas in the Park, Lakeside, The Big Night In, and the Queenstown Winter Festival.
Whether performing leading roles in major productions such as Les Misérables, belting out pop and rock anthems, swinging classics by Frank Sinatra, or singing light opera, Simon's natural stage presence and powerhouse vocals are a hallmark of every performance.
Recently, Simon crafted an intimate tribute to Neil Diamond. Growing up in Dunedin in the 70s, his father's Neil Diamond records had a lasting impact. Inspired by a live recording of Neil’s 2008 performances of Hot August Night, Simon assembled a stellar band and performed a one-hour “Hot August Night” show on the anniversary of the original album's recording at The Greek Theatre in 1972. He performed the show multiple times to sell-out audiences.
Simon is thrilled to bring a taste of the show to this year’s blossom festival and looks forward to big sing-alongs with classic hits like Holly Holy, I Am... I Said, Kentucky Woman, Cherry Cherry, and Sweet Caroline.
