Couture in the Country: The Eden Hore Story Heritage Talk

As the NZ Listener described it: "It's Country Calendar meets Project Runway – an 'only in New Zealand' story."

In 1975, Māniatoto farmer Eden Hore (1919-1997) transformed a tractor shed into a fashion museum housing over 270 designer gowns from the 1970s and 80s – creating one of Australasia's most significant vintage couture collections.

Join dress historian Dr. Jane Malthus, co-author of the bestselling "Central Otago Couture: The Eden Hore Collection", as she shares the fascinating story behind the book, and takes you behind the scenes of the stunning photoshoots featuring local Central Otago landscapes.

  • See 4 original 1970s-80s designer garments on display
  • Behind-the-scenes photoshoot stories
  • Sneak preview of clothes not in the book
  • Book signing with Dr. Jane Malthus (books available for purchase or BYO)
