Eighty percent of men who reach the age of 80 have prostate cancer. But the disease prevents many more from reaching that age.
Mike Riddell was diagnosed with the disease when he was 64 and he died from it five years later. This is his story of those years, told in a wry blokish way, and packed with hilarious encounters with the medical world and a total lack of self-pity.
Mike's widow, Rose, found the manuscript on Mike’s computer and decided this tale of his journey with prostate cancer was good enough and funny enough to be published. And so it has been. It is hoped that the book will prompt greater awareness of the disease, and encourage men to get tested.
You are invited to join Rose at the launch of Wonky Ponk Down Under. Please RSVP to Central Stories.
